ok, so now it is 3.19 am and i am the only one at the hotel. i i just had to say my goodbyes to the majority of CYMA. guess what, i cried and that is a rarity. right now i am crying cos im reliving the expereince. i came up the stairs of where we are staying and remembered those times when i used to pop my head into lisa’s and alene’s room to find the ‘ladies’ in there, and when i used to come into davids room and Boghos would ALWAYS be on the computer. there is only me and i need a hug!
whilst they were here i didnt realise how much i got to know them and love them. it sounds ridiculous, loving 12 other people in the space of a month. but its true it really did just happen. this trip, for me has opened up my knowledge of some of the most amazing people out there. people who share the same opinion, same ancestry same motherland as myself.
tomorow this time they will have reached home, but david, stef, alex, vic and i will still be here. but this time our goodbyes will be to alex, then me and vic, then david and lastly stef. everyone here was saying how much they didnt want to go home. will tried to extend his ticket, anahid told her family that she might move here (mucht to their horror). what i am basically trying to say is this: armenia is home, you never want to leave. those who are reading this debating whether to come or not my advice is this, never ever come for less than a month. there is no point. also, family trips are excellent but going with a group of random people who you have never met before is better. you do things you never thought possible in hayastan, the country with the supposed lack of electricty and water. armenia is prosperous and beautiful and the more people who come the better it will be.
i want to finish by saying, good luck to all the people who i met, all the best in the future and i really hope we can meet again in december.
