Karabagh

Its late Friday night and a few hours ago we arrived in beautiful Mountainous Karabagh! Our early morning start (6 AM!) allowed us time to stop at many places along the way. We stopped at about 10 am for breakfast just before the town of Sisian. After which we stopped at Karahunge (the Armenian stonehenge) where we took some fun pictures and some of us even tried to pose in a picture with some sheep! Our next stop was along the way to the Datev Monastary at Saten’s bridge where some put their feet in the natural springs, while others jumped in, clothes and all (check!). Further on the windy road we arrived at Datev Vank where we learned about the ancient stories about this monastary set deep in the hills of Armenia.

We arrived in Stepanagert at around 7 pm. We checked in to our nice hotel and enjoyed the setting sun before we sat down to a great meal of “khorovadz” prepared by the restaurant staff. Stay tuned for more of our updates from Karabagh!
