Internships, Internships, Internships…
Hey Everyone,
Last Saturday’s outreach in the Central Valley was amazing!! Thank you to all who made it such a memorable event! The hosts at St. Gregory and St. Paul made it an extra special event! Special thanks to Tim Aivazian for raising some scholarship funds for CYMA-WD.
A lot of questions were asked about internships and the process for obtaining them. Now that we have 20+ applicants I wanted to take some time to address this to ensure that we are all on the right track.
The mission of the internship program at CYMA-WD is to have participants connect with Hayastan through daily interaction with the socio-cultural, religious, and professional life of Armenia. But where and what exactly is that?
We have teamed up with Birthright Armenia and the Armenian Volunteer Corps to ensure that we place our interns at the best places in Armenia. Internship placements are designed to give you an opportunity to intern in an area that you planning to start a career in or are very interested in learning more about. This experience gives you skills that are unbeatable on your resume or CV and can start you off in the right direction or down a new path. And of course, you will be able to directly connect with your homeland and bring back of the new knowledge and insight into Armenia while making a lasting impression on your friends and colleagues back in Armenia.
Here are some of the categories of internships:
Arts/Architecture
Business
Christian Education
Environment
Governmental
Health/Medicine
Human Rights
IT Sector
Media/Marketing/PR
Research and Public Policy
Religious Training
Social Welfare
Village Outreach and Development
Women’s Groups
As always, if you are interested in learning more about are program and have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to email us at info@cyma-wd.org. The deadline for applications for the both pilgrimage and internship programs are April 14th, 2007! Don’t wait, apply now!
