CYMA 2011 applications are now available!! Just click on this link http://www.cyma-wd.org/content/apply-now all you need to do is fill it out, write a 1 page essay, and submit your application ?

When filling out your application keep in mind ALL materials (including the essay and the initial deposit) is due March 4, 2011. Upon completion of the application, you must send in the $1000.00 check deposit along with a copy or scan of your passport!

Last summer seven young Armenians had the journey of a lifetime. Going to Armenia helped these participants understand the true beauty of Armenia with its historical ruins within this mountainous country. They were able to reconnect with their identity, culture, and religion. Living together for a whole month helped the group become a family as they ate together, walked the streets of Yerevan, and understood what it means to be a Christian Armenian. Along with day trips to Khor Virap, Geghard and Haghpat just to name a few, participants were also involved in internships of their choice enabled by CYMA’s new Community Engagement Program. The group also spent a week in Gyumri where they remolded the Youth Center of the local Armenian Church Youth Organization. They also helped the youth cleanup and beautification of ancient churches in the region. Spending a week with complete strangers helped both groups build rich relationships and life-long friendships.

This year, our executive committee is working on a new Community Engagement Program, and new internship opportunities of your choice. If you’re still not certain that this trip is for you look at this video one of our last year’s participants made, and I guarantee that you will change your mind!
