The Program

First Impressions

We arrived at the airport in Yerevan at around midnight on Wednesday to find out that our luggage is on the next flight which would be arriving Saturday morning. It is 1:00 Saturday afternoon and we are expecting it anytime. On the upside, I got to buy some Armenian clothes which look awesome! There was a big mix up at the London airport with my brother, Jordan, and because British people never know what they're talking about, him and Der Vartan missed the flight to Yerevan. They ended up flying to Moscow and then to Armenia.

sticky moose!!

Howdy outside world,

This is my first time in Hayastan and needless to say I'm full of different emotions. Hayastan is unlike any place I've ever been or ever will be in. To a certain degree, there are a lot of sad emotions tied to this country. I remember my grandfather told my dad after traveling back here late in life that the Armenian culture had become Russian culture. Even here, two elderly men approached us at different times asking us why we came, for as the put it, the country has become Russian. I definitely can see why they feel that way.

First blog ever!!!!!!

hey there folks of cyma and readers of the cyma blog, its me sarin im pretty sure im writing the first blog of the trip, so ill try and make it somewhat informative. Lets start at the beginning. As most everyone knows I am extremely afraid of flying, so it did not help me when our plane got delayed for 2 hours, while we were sitting on it. After the first of my 12 panic attacks, we took off.

CYMA 2008 Itinerary

CYMA has been designed and organized under the auspicious of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church. This trip was organized for an ease and an efficacy not found with a typical trip. This is not a high school trip or tour around Armenia with a travel agency. We are not going to these locations to just visit, walk around and leave. We are the Christian Youth Mission to Armenia and this is your Spiritual Pilgrimage to your homeland!

Thanks to all for being patient.

Return Home

Well, most of you know that last year I spent 9 months living in Armenia. And most of you know that I've since returned to CA. Many have asked me about my experiences in Armenia and wonder why it is that I left, and why I went there in the first place, and what it was like. There are many things that I have shared with many people but few things that I've actually be able to blog/write about.
